Hi, I’m Niv.

I’m a husband, father and a family photographer.

In the summer of 2013, my wife and I packed our things (and our dog Freddy!) and moved to Toronto from Tel-Aviv, Israel. A year later, our daughter Olive was born and 4 years later, we decided to move to Hamilton, where our son Max was born.

I will never forget the moment 5 years ago when the doctor at St. Michael’s Hospital asked me, “Daddy, do you want to put on her first diaper? Daddy? Daddy?” You see, I didn’t understand who he was talking to because this was the first time someone addressed me as ‘daddy’. Time flies way too fast, and for me, photography was and always will be a way to stop time. It’s a way to hold on to a memory that, without a photo, would probably have disappeared forever.

When I was a kid I was fascinated by how my family lived and looked long before I was born. I used to sit with my grandparents, as we went through shoeboxes filled with old photos, and it was this way that I learned about my family history. This is the reason I'm documenting my family’s everyday life because for me it is like writing our own family history as it happens.

If you want me to help you document a part of your family life I would love to hear from you.

Take care of all your memories. For you cannot relive them.
